The state worker soup line, affectionately called “The Line” was born as a reaction to the furlough letters sent by our governor the week before Christmas 2008.  When the furloughs started, I wanted to be as prepared as I could be for the economic cutback.  I also wanted an outlet to vent as the country’s economic crisis became my own.  It appears that while I didn’t cause the problem, I was going to be part of the solution.

Ultimately, I hope this blog becomes a help for those that read it.  And I hope that state workers are inspired to not just accept their situation but to be proactive to make a difference.
